Even though the Midnight Angel is mentioned in “Shadows of the Night”, it might not have been noticed by us fans had it not appeared on the side of an airplane in the music video for that song.
What is the Midnight Angel?
The Midnight Angel is the angel who appeared to the shepherds, saying to them, “Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy…”
In later times (the 1700’s), the Angel became known as one who searched out a lonely person, exchanging its happiness for their emptiness and departing, bearing their burdens along with her.
A postage stamp was issued in 1995 showing the angel. The design was taken from a greeting card of the 1900’s. First day issues were postmarked in Christmas, FL on October 19, 1995. They can still be obtained from sources such as eBay, Etsy, etc.
