Harold's speech:
Pat and Neil,
To borrow a couple of song titles, it's "Hard to Believe" that 30 years of "Precious Time" has passed since the release of your first album, "In the Heat of the Night", back in the days of vinyl records.
In that time, there have been multiple gold and platinum albums, and of course, 4 Grammy Awards among many others, as tangible evidence of your success. Less tangible, but perhaps more important, are the multitudes of fans whose lives you've touched in some way. A whole generation grew up with you. Your music has inspired hope, empowerment and joy. It's brought people together in new and long lasting friendships, and even today, is being discovered by and inspiring a new generation.
This sculpture entitled "Wild Fire", symbolizes much of what you and your band have achieved, being representative of multiple pieces working in harmony to achieve great things. With that in mind, on behalf of the members of the Pat Benatar Fan Club, thank you for 30 years of great music, friendship and good times.
